Overview

This session explores the relevance and potential of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) within today’s health care landscape. It begins with a review of current health statistics in the United States, focusing on disease prevalence, medical responses, and treatment outcomes. The conversation will also include data on the use of acupuncture in the U.S., along with its growing acceptance and foundational principles. A key component of this review is understanding the core philosophies of TCM—which often differ greatly from conventional Western medical approaches—and how, when used appropriately and in conjunction with allopathic (Western) therapies, TCM can significantly improve patient outcomes and disease management.
