Position Description

A hospital system in Texas is seeking an experienced Neonatal–Perinatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) for locum tenens coverage in a Level III NICU. This inpatient role requires 24-hour in-house coverage and supports both NICU and newborn services.

Providers manage NICU infants, attend high-risk deliveries, and round on newborns while working alongside a full multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for NNPs looking for high-acuity neonatal experience, competitive pay, and flexible locums scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient care for Level II–III NICU patients

• Attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitations

• Round on NICU infants and newborns

• Collaborate with nursing, respiratory therapy, and pediatric teams

• Document care accurately in EMR

Requirements

• Active Texas NP license

NNP certification required

• Prescriptive authority

• Experience in Level II/III NICU settings

• Comfort with 24-hour in-house shifts

Assignment Details

$50–$100/hr

• Locum tenens | Inpatient

• 24-hour shifts

• Variable census depending on site

• Malpractice insurance provided
