Exciting new virtual CE offerings this year, member spotlight, NAPNAP rebranding, membership engagement and more!

Our new Houston Area NAPNAP president brought our Board together (virtually of course) to plan the upcoming awesome year! The addition of monthly virtual educational experiences based on membership interest from a recent survey was highlighted. Our first meeting will be free of charge to all, so let your fellow NPs and NP students know! We even plan on doing raffles for prizes for those attending on zoom. Details will be posted later. The following virtual CE meetings will continue to be free for members (great benefit) and only $10 for nonmembers.  

Each month we will highlight one of our members. We are a talented passionate group so this will be a great way to learn more about each other. Our first spotlight will be our own President Ali. Do you have a unique job or community volunteer passion? Maybe you could be in the spotlight. Stay tuned to learn about this chapter feature. 

Our chapter will continue to offer student scholarships for one MSN and one DNP student. NAPNAP membership required. The application info will be posted.

Is your NAPNAP membership current? Do you even know when your membership expires? Just log on to napnap.org and find out. There are many CE and pharmacology courses available, free subscription to the Journal of Pediatric Health Care, discounts for annual conference registration and publications, special interest groups, career and patient education resources, discounts on liability and health insurance, and daily updates on pediatric healthcare topics. By paying your NAPNAP membership, you automatically can be a member of your local chapter.

Our chapter is committed to the community and legislative engagement. Lynda Woolbert will keep us in-the-know about upcoming legislative topics and how we can engage with our legislators. Our chapter is passionate about Human Trafficking and Pediatric Mental Health, especially during this pandemic. More education and community outreach opportunities will become available.

NAPNAP is in the beginning stages of re-branding and creating a new and exciting website. Membership engagement especially during these uncertain times is very important. Our Houston Area Chapter Board is making a concerted effort to reach out to our members in a variety of ways to provide exciting learning opportunities and networking. We know the value of the NAPNAP membership so please renew if expired and tell your NP students and colleagues who aren't NAPNAP members to join our next virtual CE event-free and hopefully our chapter will continue to grow!!
