Extension (May 3rd) for call for nominations for new board 2021-2022

Dear Chapter Members,

We hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy. Thank you for your ongoing resilience and service to our community during these unprecedented times. As we continue to embrace the "new normal", I am excited to announce that it is time to elect our 2021-2022 Houston Chapter NAPNAP board members.  

If you have been looking for an opportunity to get more involved and take part in planning our chapter events and activities, please consider joining our board. There are three elected positions (President-elect, Secretary, and Treasurer) and five appointed Board member positions open (Program Co-Chair, Membership Chair, Legislative chair, Student Liason, and Community Co-Chair). The descriptions are below. You are eligible to run for any position you have not held within the prior 6 years. 

Interested members will submit a picture, cv/resume and 100-word statement of interest to the nominations chair (milivakharia@hotmail.com) to be consider for position. Appointment decision will be made by unanimous board voting to fill position. If no interest, or no unanimous decision for appointment, that open position duties will be distributed amongst the elected and continued board members and position will be filled in the next election/appointment cycle. Voting board members include all elected and appointed members. I will distribute info from interested members to all board members for review and we will either need to meet in person or on the phone for discussion on appointments. Decision on appointments will need to be made by May 19th, so notifications and acceptance of position can be made prior to May meeting.

Interest statements will be distributed to chapter on May 5th, 2021

Voting opens May 6th, 2021 and will be open until May 12th, 2021 

Appointed officers will be notified on May 15th, 2021. Elected and appointed officers will be announced at May chapter meeting.  

New terms begin July 2021.
